IFPRI is launching its 2025 Global Food Policy Report to mark the institute's 50th anniversary. This special edition examines how food policy research has evolved over five decades amid major global changes. Despite progress since 1975, challenges like conflict, climate change, inequality, and geopolitical tensions continue driving poverty and hunger. The report assesses how policy research can better equip decision-makers for future challenges as we approach 2050. The launch event features IFPRI researchers presenting on evidence-based policymaking over the past 50 years. Nobel Prize winner Michael Kremer will give a keynote on future innovations. A distinguished expert panel will discuss research priorities for the coming decades. Since 1975, IFPRI has reached millions through research-based solutions for food security, nutrition, and sustainable food systems. This launch begins a series of events celebrating IFPRI's milestone anniversary. The initiative showcases the critical importance of food policy research in shaping global policies and action.
